fall-inspired butterfly painting

since it's fall and there are so many gorgeous colors to enjoy in nature i thought of painting a colorful butterfly painting with my class using a lot of fall-inspired colors. The frame is a metallic copper acrylic paint, i think it's the first time i've used metallic paint since the gold and silver watercolors i used in elementary school. i think i like it especially in contrast with the teal sky.

i took the first picture before i had made the finishing touch of adding a glass pebble as the butterfly's eye. i should've probably taken another photo of the entire picture now that it's finished. but at least i took a detail shot to show you the eye.

It was hard to photograph, the oranges and reds look so much alike now and I didn't want to photoshop everything. But thanks, glad you like it!

thanks for this beautiful idea - it was fun copying it while taking part in your class (although mine doesn't look 10 % as nice as your original)
