a crazy weekend and new quote cards

although it is monday already, i think i owe it this weekend to reflect on it once more, especially since we had crazy things happening...

some friends found out "my fair lady" was playing in atlanta this weekend, so we all drove down town, got the tickets, and wanted to eat out before the play would begin. well, we forgot about the shopping frenzy going on at this time of year, so the restaurant at the mall we had planned on going to was out of the question (no parking left and 45 minutes wait time for a table even if we had found a parking spot).
so we found another place down the road and ordered our food right away since we were running out of time. well, the food never came. the new waitress had forgotten to bring the food to our table although we were almost the only people in the restaurant! and by the time we noticed it we were running out of time (we were excitedly conversing and not paying attention for over half and hour). by then it was about 20 minutes before the show began.

so we wolfed down our meals or at least took a few bites in my case, ran to the car, sped to the venue, parked the car and ran inside... unfortunately only two of us made it before they closed the doors for the first 12 minutes so not to disturb others... what a silly "punishment" when the last few rows were empty anyway and nobody would've been bothered by a few people sneaking through the doors. nothing seemed to go right that night, but the play was really good. great music of course, it was "my fair lady" after all!

anyhow, the weekend ended with a happy evening with friends, and getting inspiration for one of our friend's wedding invitations.

one thing i count as an accomplishment for this weekend: i put up a new shop listing, it's for the greeting cards i had made for myself and wanted to share with you too. the two cards you see at the beginning of this post are cards that are showcasing sylvia's mixed media art she made back when both of us artsy ants were together and had our fun open air painting session. i wish we could repeat that soon...

how was your weekend? eventful like mine or did you get a chance to relax?

What a nice post, I saw My Fair Lady here in Hamburg last month! Except it was actually Pygmalion, so no songs...
Well done for getting new stuff in your shop. That's something I'm working on. Join me if you wanna:

Simona, I am so glad you were able to stop by and I hope you enjoyed yourself.
Your weekend sounds like it was busy! How sad to close the doors with empty seats, but it sounds like you enjoyed the show.
