i can hardly believe it myself...

... but i finished my shalom in lettuce even before the holidays! i actually ran out of yarn, which meant i had to make the sleeves 3/4 once again... my hubby says it's my "markenzeichen" (german for trademark, the two other cardigans i made for myself have the same length of sleeves) and i quite like that. all notes, alterations, yarn details etc can be found on my ravelry project page

so, without further ado (i've kept you waiting long enough), here it is:

the buttons are made from hazeltree branches. they smell so good, are smooth and just so gorgeous. i found them in the etsy shop wooden artist.

i'm linking up with ginny's yarn along today. i am reading "what we talk about when we talk about love", a collection of stories by raymond carver. i read stories of him a few years ago and my husband picked up the book and liked it so much that he got two other collections second hand. i really love short stories and these are just the ones i love for sitting on the couch and doing a little reading now and then. i cast on a new knitting project, something smaller for a change :) it's a surprise, though. so i will share more about it soon!

I love your shalom in Lettuce! I'm currently working on one also (but without sleeves). Now I want a 'lettuce' one too! I'm going to hop over to your ravelry page to read more details.

Wow, your shalom is just so cute! Love the 3/4 length sleeves and the color!

I've read that collection of Raymond Carver stories years ago. He's the master of spare language and excellent dialogue. Enjoy!

Oh, I would love one of those for this spring--I really have been thinking of making something for myself for once. I knit 6 sweaters for my kids, and I have never done so much as a hat for myself!

Wow, the shalom is gorgeous, really! I love the lettuce yarn, what a perfect name for it and at the first picture I thought the sweater was on a mannequin. You are in very good shape lol. I love the buttons, everything is beautiful, definitely worth the wait : ) Thanks for sharing.

It's beautiful!! I made myself a shalom cardigan last winter but ended up ripping it out because the yarn I chose just didn't work. I really should try again this year because I LOVE the pattern!
