a sisterly yarn along

sylvia:

i'm still working on the cardi for my little junebug, a few rows progress here and there. i must say i'm so in love with the malabrigo yarn and that colourway is just so gorgeous with the dark shades and the little yellow bits thrown in. i will make sure to knit it a little longer so that she will be able to wear it for a long time, maybe up to summer of next year!

we had our first dusting of snow last night, so this morning i brought out some of the winter books. one of my alltime favourite ones is Flannel Kisses. it captures the magic of a day spent in the snow so well, and just looking at the pictures makes you feel warm and cozy and also happy to be indoors by the fire (or with candlelight). i also like the classic The Snowy Day by Ezra Jack Keats very much!

simona:

a few days ago i finished the newsboy cap i was working on, but i forgot to take pictures of it. i must say i'm quite happy with how it came out. but i did photograph the hat that instead of becoming the newsboy hat for my nephew turned into a cute cap with crochet flowers for my niece. the flowers and the little leaf are done, but i still need to sew them onto the side of the hat.

joining with ginny's yarn along. what are you knitting and reading?

The hat is very, very beautiful, just like out of a children's boutique. And other siblings will really get jealous, I guess, when they see Sencer and Lizbeth with those hats.
