yarn along: stripes and swans

what did you expect but that i am still knitting happily away on my color affection scarf (you'll see a lot more of it in the coming weeks/possibly months, i promise!) i finished last week's book, the love child. now i started a book i read a couple of years ago already, Wild Swans by Jung Chang. it has been - and still is - one of the best books i have ever ever read. it was my mum's copy and i have always wanted to own the book as well, as i loved it so much and knew i would read it again. now my mum found an almost new copy at goodwill and handed her old, well-thumbed copy down to me. i am very happy and can't wait to sink into the story again. the last time i read it i was at uni and i could. not. put. it. down. i even read on the street walking to the subway!

p.s. i made a little more progress on my scarf than pictured above. this photo is from last week, i had just forgotten to post it ;)

joining ginny's yarn along. what are you knitting and reading???

Great colors in your scarf! I get such use out of my Color Affection. Another one will be made after Christmas I believe.

I love the Color Affection pattern. I've made two so far and just bought yarn for a third!

I'm making a CA, too! Unfortunately, the yarn was free and not my colors at all, so I'm giving it to my sister. I'll have to make another for myself! I love what I'm seeing so far!

I've seen the color affection shawl a few times now, and I fall more and more in love with it every time I see it.

The stripes are so lovely!
It sounds like the book is really, really good. Maybe I need to get it as an audio book and listen to it in the car...
