needles and pages - summer reading and knitting

so, here i am with my everlasting vest, ha! only a few rows here and there, but as i mentioned already last week such is summer and that's ok with me! i am so pleased about my summer reading program though. i have finished 7 books and now there are 3 more to go. i have downloaded "The Vacationers" by Emma Straub and "Mr. Penumbra's 24 Hour Book Store" by Robin Sloan to my kindle.

on monday i finished "The Girl You Left Behind" by Jojo Moyes. It was very different from "Me Before You" but i still loved it, i loved the historic component and found the story quite capivating. one night i read until 2:30 because i couldn't put it down.

also pictured is a find from the library, a book i vaguely remember reading as a child, "The Mysterious Tadpole" by Steven Kellogg. is it too early to think about hat knitting? i'd love to make myself a striped hat with that leftover mustard and blue yarn, i'm just not sure if it will last...

so tell me, what are you knitting and reading? joining ginny again today.

my knitting has been a few rows here and there and in between, and that is quite fine with me. Love your knits and you know autumn will be here soon enough :)

So many great books. I knit in spurts with a week of furious knitting every chance I get then other weeks where I avoid it like the plague.

Knitting has been a row here and a row there for me too. Just the way it goes in the summer. Reading...all homeschool stuff at the moment :)

Holy horse! When I saw you talking about Steven Kellogg it reminded me that he came to my elementary school when I was a kid and demonstrated his drawing abilities for the whole school. Wow! That took me back.

He apparently lives here in Connecticut.

Hello! Just hopping over from Ginnys blog. What a great idea to do a blog together and share/inspire each other and the world for that matter, all while being an ocean apart. I can relate. I feel like I found a real treasure with your blog and look forward to browsing and re-visiting :)
