all about apples: apple stamping, apple banner, apple picking...

it is our annual autumn tradition to go apple picking. this year, we got a little more festive about it. cutting an apple horizontally (to have a cute little star or flower shape in the middle) and stamping some pieces canvas paper with acrylic paint. i put in forks for easier handling of the apples (in case you don't like the idea of playing with food, one could cut the painted area off  and eat the rest :-P)

we cut out the stamped apples in squares, punched holes into the canvas and used some yarn to hang the banner up behind our dining table. i love the simple look of it, but i look forward to adding some colorful leaves and other fall-y items to the string...

a day later we went apple picking. i love growing traditions as a family, especially during my favorite time of the year!

right after returning, we made a simple apple cake that i once shared the recipe of here.

i hope you are all fully enjoying the season  you are in!

Apples are being enjoyed here too, yum! Thanks for the reminder for apple cake, I had forgotten, so it just went on my list.

isn't it neat we ended up going apple picking within the same week? one day we'll be able to go on the same day, in the same continent, in the same orchard :)
