in my basket and on my nightstand

i have almost finished the little "juvel" cardigan for the junebug, just one more sleeve to go. before starting my next big project, i want to make some mug mats with leftover yarn. would't it be cool to have mats matching different mugs?

next week i will be attending a concert featuring a cellist who played in the Auschwitz concentration camp, Anita Lasker-Wallfisch, and her son, who is also a cellist and her grandson. i have been playing the cello for many years now, and it is an instrument that never ceases to touch and amaze me, but combined with such an amazing story and musician i am sure it will be an unforgettable concert. i am reading her biography now to acquiant myself with her story in preparation for the concert.

joining ginny again today. what are you knitting and reading??

The little cardigan for the Junebug is precious and if it were bigger I would wear it ;)
I love the idea of mug mats to match the mugs and can't wait to see them.
Anita's concert sounds amazing and what a wonderful opportunity to see history in the making, enjoy every minute of it.
Happy Yarn Along.

I can only imagine how moving that concert will be. What an amazing opportunity.

PS - I thought the cardigan was a little hat with ears from the thumbnail picture. :)

Although I really love the piano and never regret the choice to focus in that direction, I really wish I had also been able to play the cello, especially now that I am older. I have a secret wish that one of my children will want to play cello and maybe I can learn too. I have so many dreams in so many directions but cello is growing on the list. The concert you are attending sounds really moving.
The cardi is super cute and I also thought it was a little hood at first!
